In the years 1947-53 Veritas assembled 250 sports cars. In 1953 the firm was acquired by BMW. In 1999 the new firm Veritas AG was created, which presented the avant-garde RS III roadster at the 2000 Essen Motor Show. The vehicle comes with a 12-cylinder engine from 5.0 liters and 408 hp to 6.1 liters and 680 hp (0-200 km/h in 9.5 s, 350 km/h) and is built by special request since 2005. A cheaper model based on the BMW Z4, the Comet, was also planned but was never released. Currently, Veritas company seems to be non-active.
