This car originated in the USA when Jim Kellison's Red Stallion from Los Angeles, California started manufacturing Cobra replicas in the later '70s. It was based on a newly designed frame powered by a 4.9-liter or 7.0-liter Ford V8. Approximately 80 examples of American Stallion were made. In ~1985 the company was taken over by Germans (Gunnar Haberstroh, Peter Karg, and Ernst-August Walter) who continued production in Nuremberg, Germany. German Stallion was powered by a 5.7 liter Chevrolet V8.
