RML, short for Ray Mallock Limited, is a distinguished name in automotive engineering and design, with a rich history rooted in racing and innovation. Founded by Ray Mallock in 1979 and rebranded from Ray Mallock Atlantic Racing to RML in 1984, the company initially made its mark in motorsport, building racing cars alongside his brother Richard and father Major Arthur Mallock.
RML's expertise extends beyond the track into the realm of road-going vehicles. In 1990, the company produced its first road cars by crafting a limited number of Ford GT40 replicas. Their creative prowess continued with concept work for a Japanese manufacturer in 1994, and in 1999, they delivered both the Opel Astra Concept DTM—a prototype that would influence the production Astra Coupé—and the Saleen S7, a groundbreaking supercar.
The early 2000s saw RML innovate further with the Nissan Micra R, a high-performance prototype unveiled at the Geneva Auto Show, and in 2011, they pushed boundaries again with the Nissan Juke-R, a limited-production model dubbed "the world’s fastest crossover." RML continued to impress in 2014 with the Infiniti Q50 Eau Rouge concept, and by 2018, they had converted the Aston Martin Vulcan into a road-legal variant.
In 2021, RML introduced the Short Wheelbase, a modern homage to the Ferrari 250 GT SWB, blending classic aesthetics with contemporary performance. With only 30 units available, this model exemplifies RML's commitment to crafting exclusive, high-performance vehicles.
