The famous designer Dennis Adams created Probe 15 in 1969. It was an extreme coupe only 736mm (29 in) tall. The car used a rear-mounted Hillmann Imp 875cc engine. A revised version named Probe 16 was sponsored by The Daily Telegraph and was displayed at the London Motor Show in 1969. It was 127mm taller and had an electric sliding canopy roof as well as a mid-mounted Austin 1800 engine. Only three examples weere made before Probe 2001 replaced it in 1970. The new model was still lower than 1m and was powered by a BMC 1800 engine.
