Phantom GTR was created by Chris Greville-Smith's Phantom Automotive in 1997 and made its debut at Stoneleigh Show. It was a 2-seater coupe with mid-mounted Rover/Honda V6 engine. The car was based on a spaceframe chassis with bespoke suspension components, double wishbones and aluminum uprights. The project was taken over by Virago Cars from Coventry in 2005 and the car was offered only in fully-built form. It was a short-lived company and the project reppeared in 2010 as Vortex GTR made by Vortex Automotive.
