Manta was created by brothers Brand and Tim Lovette in Santa Ana, California and it was one of the most popular kitcars. It was an exotic car in the style of Can-Am racing cars. Manta was based on steel tube chassis with Volkswagen front suspension and mid-mounted Chevrolet V8. The second model Montage was added by new owners Tim and Craig Shirey. Manta Cars even made a replica of the 1955 Corvette. The original Manta company was closed in 1991, but the model was later re-introduced in 1994 by Warp Five Engineering.
