Established in 1962 by Kurt Lotterschmid as a mechanic workshop, since 1981 this firm has produced a small series of Lotec sports vehicles. In 1995 Lotec presented the new Sirius coupe model, whose serial version premiered at the 2001 Geneva Motor Show. The vehicle comes with a 6.0-liter 1,200 hp V12 engine that attains a top speed of 400 km/h (0-100 km/h in 3.8 s), one of the fastest cars permitted on public roads. The firm plans to build five of these models. Lotec is also involved in mechanical and visual tuning for vehicles made by Mercedes-Benz.
