Mario Richard Hofstetter built the first sportscar prototype in 1980 and two years later founded a company named Tecnodesign Mecanica Industrial e Comercial Ltda to put this car in series production. At Sao Paulo Motorshow 1984 the first production-spec example was shown. It was powered by a Volkswagen Santana 2000 engine. Airconditioning, cast-alloy wheels, and stereo cassette player were optional. The production of the car started in 1986 but it was not successful and quickly ended in 1989. Most probably only 4 examples of Hofstetter cars have been made in total.
