Gigliato

Japan

The Gigliato Aerosa, conceived by Japanese designer Nobuo Nakamura and unveiled in 1993, represents a unique blend of Japanese precision and Italian design. Designed by Gigliato Design of Kanagawa, Japan, the Aerosa featured a mid-mounted Ford V6 engine with 220 horsepower, and aimed to merge high performance with luxury, including leather seats and air conditioning.

In 1997, Gigliato formed a promising partnership with Lamborghini, leading to an upgraded Aerosa GPS model with a 4.6-liter V8 and plans for production and racing. However, Lamborghini’s 1998 acquisition by Audi led to the project's cancellation.

The Aerosa remains a symbol of ambitious international collaboration and the fusion of engineering excellence with design sophistication, embodying what might have been a revolutionary supercar.
