Produced by Megastar Veículos Ltda. between 1997 and 1999, the EMME was a luxurious four-door sedan known for its sophisticated mechanical design and limited production. The car's creation was initially shrouded in mystery, with early rumors in 1993 suggesting an exclusive Lotus model designed for Brazil.
The EMME featured a striking body made from veXtrim injected plastic, patented by Megastar's parent company, New Concept AG. Launched at the Brasil Motor Show in 1997, it boasted advanced features such as a zinc-plated steel tubular chassis, independent four-wheel suspension, and a range of powerful engines, including a 264 hp 2.2-liter turbo from Lotus.
Despite its luxurious interior and high-end specifications, the EMME struggled with numerous technical issues and lacked modern safety features. Megastar's ambitious production and export plans were thwarted by these problems and economic challenges, leading to the company's closure in 2000 after only 15 units were built. The EMME remains a rare and intriguing piece of automotive history.
