Established in 1999, by 2000 the company had built four prototypes of the avant-guard S1-P model. Since 2000 their product range has included the modernized Comarth S1 X-Oly roadster (until 2002 marketed as the S1 50), available with Ford engines. In 2001 the company introduced a version with a removable roof. The new Xtamy roadster, which premiered at the 2002 Paris Motor Show, went into production in 2003. It was available with a 2.0-liter 145 hp unit or a 2.0-liter 195 hp engine.
