Artega

Germany

Established in 2006 by the Paragon concern, the new company Artega presented the GT coupe at the Geneva Motor Show 2007. The car with the VW V6 - 3.6 l / 300 HP engine develops a speed of 275 km / h and accelerates from 0 to 100 km / h in 4.8 seconds. The Artega GT has been produced since November 2008 in the number of 500 units per year.

At the Geneva Motor Show 2012 Artega presented an updated GT as well as an electric SE model powered by two powerful electric motors which together produced 280 KW (380 PS or 375 BHP). Another premiere same year was the Artega GT Study with a panoramic roof.

Artega re-appeared at Frankfurt Motor Show 2015 with two new vehicles - an all-new electric Scalo model and a weird electric quad Karo. The Scalo model was planned for a small series of twelve exclusive vehicles built to order.

Struggling Artega company has produced only 153 cars by 2012. To revive enthusiasm for the brand they hired Italian coachbuilders Touring Superleggera to design their newest model - Scalo Superelletra. It was shown at Geneva Motors Show 2017 but remained a prototype.

In 2019 Artega turned into a microcar field and in May the company announced the start of deliveries for the Karolino model. It was an electric car developed together with the Microlino company and styled after the famous Isetta car. However, soon after legal disagreements again stopped the progress of this project.

Nevertheless, Artega showed the Karo model at Frankfurt Motor Show 2019. Another premiere at the show was the all-electric motorsport prototype - Scalo Elletra T/C. This car looked promising in the brochure. However, it was presented as a chassis only at the show.

A year later in 2020, an agreement between Artega and Microlino was announced and the Karo model was put back into production. At the time of writing Artega's website is half-alive and Karo's production seems to be on hold.
